AI’s Impact on Workforce and Tech Use Set to Continue in 2025

Leaders predict that artificial intelligence will continue to shape the workforce and tech use in 2025, with both positive and uncertain outcomes.

Tech leaders such as Amazon CTO Werner Vogels and Clement Delangue, CEO of AI startup Hugging Face, share their visions for the future. Vogels emphasizes the growing importance of wellbeing and creating positive change in the world, while Delangue warns of a potential backlash against AI.

The use of AI is expected to become more widespread, with companies like ADP using it to enhance sales and investor days. Millennials and Gen Z are driving the trend towards meaningful societal impact over financial success, but other age groups are also getting involved.

On the consumer side, Vogels predicts that people will use technology more intentionally, moving away from distracting devices and seeking alternatives like “dumb phones”. Delangue, on the other hand, foresees a future where consumers buy into futuristic devices like personal AI robots.

However, with tariffs under Trump expected to lead to higher prices and project cuts for businesses, companies must adapt their strategies. According to Michael Perica, CFO of Rimini Street, some businesses may have to prioritize what is truly necessary in the face of supply-chain disruptions.
