Actor Alan Ritchson, who starred in the popular series Reacher, spoke candidly about his former classmate Matt Gaetz, a former Florida representative. The two were classmates in Niceville, Florida.
Ritchson described Gaetz as “not a good dude” and an “adversary.” He stated that it’s shocking for the panhandle of Florida to continue supporting Gaetz despite allegations of misconduct, including pardoning certain criminals and alleged sexual misconduct with a 17-year-old girl.
Ritchson also touched on his own aspirations in politics, saying he wants to do better than Gaetz but doesn’t think he could succeed due to his perceived duplicity. He praised Senator Bernie Sanders, who he considers a hero for staying true to himself despite limited accomplishments.
Gaetz resigned from Congress last November after being nominated for U.S. attorney general. The Department of Justice later dropped its investigation into the allegations, citing lack of evidence. Despite denouncing the allegations, Gaetz’s reputation remains marred by controversy.
