Alaska Airlines Expands Nonstop Routes from Portland Airport

Alaska Airlines is adding new nonstop routes from its Portland International Airport hub, starting May 15. The airline will introduce daily flights between Portland and Houston, as well as resume nonstop services to Eugene twice a day. Additionally, it will launch a new route from San Diego to Medford.

The airline, which operates around 100 daily flights and serves 58 nonstop destinations from Portland, sees the new routes as part of its focus on connecting Oregon with the rest of the country. The Houston flight is currently its largest “unserved city” from Portland, departing daily at 10:30 a.m. and arriving in Houston before 6 p.m.

For regional travelers, Alaska Airlines will offer an option to visit Eugene without overnight stays. A 5:30 a.m. departure from Eugene can be paired with a 9:55 p.m. return flight from Portland.

The airline plans to expand its services further during the summer, offering four round-trip flights between Portland and Medford, as well as three daily flights to Redmond. The Port of Portland welcomes Alaska Airlines’ continued partnership, which provides more options for travelers to connect with major markets and within Oregon.
