Alcaraz Saves Match Points to Win Second French Open Title

Carlos Alcaraz has won his second straight French Open title, coming back from two sets down and saving three match points to defeat world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in a thrilling final.

Alcaraz, 22, trailed 5-3, 0-40 on serve in the fourth set but recovered to win his fifth Grand Slam title after 5 hours, 29 minutes. He is now 8-4 against Sinner and extended his lead in slam finals to 5-0.

The match was marked by Alcaraz’s impressive comeback, with him hitting back from two sets down in the third set and then saving three match points at 0-40 on serve in the fourth. Sinner had a chance to win the title but failed to capitalize on several opportunities throughout the match.

Alcaraz attributed his success to his mindset, saying “The match is not finished until he wins the last point.” He also praised his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, for believing in him and helping him achieve his goal.

Sinner looked shell-shocked at the end of the match, acknowledging that he had chances but couldn’t capitalize on them. Despite the loss, he remained positive, calling the tournament “high-level” and happy to have been part of it.
