Alcon Recalls Eyedrops Due to Fungal Material Contamination

Alcon Laboratories Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of one lot of 25-count Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF Single Vials On-the-Go nationwide due to a foreign material found inside an unopened vial. The affected products have an expiration date of September 2025 and are packaged in green and pink containers with the brand names “Systane” and “ULTRA PF.”

The FDA advises customers who have purchased these products to stop using them immediately and return them to their place of purchase for a refund or replacement. In rare cases, fungal contamination can cause eye infections that may be vision-threatening or even life-threatening to immunocompromised individuals.

As of December 24, no injury reports have been received related to this recall. Customers are advised to report any adverse reactions online. The affected products were distributed nationwide and include lot number 10101.
