Aldi, the German discount grocery store, is expanding into nine new states in the US. Seventeen new locations are set for grand openings, although exact dates have not been confirmed. These stores will be part of Aldi’s goal to open 800 total stores nationwide by the end of 2028.
The company plans to convert old Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores into Aldi locations, with around 50 stores expected to undergo the conversion process in the latter half of 2024. Most of these converted stores are expected to reopen as Aldi in 2025.
Some of the new Aldi locations include:
– Alabama: Auburn, Pinson, Bessemer, and Semmes
– Florida: Port St. Lucie, Panama City Beach, and Panama City
– Missouri: Fulton and Park Hills
– Mississippi: D’Iberville
– New Jersey: Springfield
– Ohio: Cincinnati, Garfield Heights, and Streetsboro
– Pennsylvania: Pittsburgh
– Tennessee: College Grove
– Wisconsin: Antigo
The expansion marks the latest phase in Aldi’s US growth strategy, with the company aiming to operate around 3,200 stores nationwide.
