Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira has broken his silence regarding his highly anticipated return to the Octagon.
After losing to current champion Magomed Ankalaev in March, Pereira is eager for a comeback fight on his terms, targeting either Ankalaev or another opponent. In an interview with UFC Brazil’s YouTube channel, Pereira revealed that his next fight will be discussed soon.
Pereira took time off after the loss to rest and recover from injuries sustained during an extraordinary 2024 season, which saw him defend the title three times via stoppage. With a short window for regaining the championship, Pereira is determined to return strong.
“My body got tired, I had some injuries,” Pereira said of his decision to take time off. “Now I’m coming back.”
Pereira’s intentions are clear: he wants to regain his UFC Light Heavyweight title and prove himself as a force in the division. With the fall schedule approaching, a fight announcement is likely imminent.
