Alexa Plus Launch Delayed by Missing Features

Amazon has launched its AI-powered Alexa Plus, but it’s currently only available to a “small number” of customers due to some missing features. The upgraded AI assistant is available on Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21 devices, but lacks key capabilities such as brainstorming gift ideas, ordering groceries, or identifying family members around the house.

Alexa Plus can currently perform tasks like ordering an Uber, identifying objects, drafting emails, and searching for specific products. It also has the ability to summarize uploaded documents, but users are not yet able to delete these files through the device itself. Amazon has confirmed that more features will be released in waves, with the company releasing a list of initial capabilities on its early access page.

The launch of Alexa Plus was announced in February as part of Amazon’s plans for the AI-powered assistant. The service is available on most Echo devices for $19.99 per month or for free through Prime membership. Users can sign up to be notified about early access for Alexa Plus on Amazon’s website.
