Acclaimed director Ali Abbasi has lost his representation at top talent agencies CAA and Management 360 following a groping allegation made by an A-list star. The incident allegedly occurred at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, where Abbasi’s accuser also works with CAA.
According to reports, Abbasi was dismissed from both agencies after the Golden Globes earlier this year. Variety confirmed the news, citing sources that described the events leading up to his removal. A representative for Abbasi denied further comment on the matter.
The alleged incident occurred at a private gathering not officially affiliated with CAA, and Abbasi’s accuser is also represented by the agency. Meanwhile, mainstream distributors passed on Ali Abbasi’s film “The Apprentice” this year due to concerns about the timing of its release.
The film, which stars Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump and Jeremy Strong as his mentor Roy Cohn, received several award nominations for its performances.
