Alibaba Enters Smart Glasses Market with Quark AI Glasses

Alibaba Group is set to launch its first smart glasses by the end of 2025, dubbed the Quark AI Glasses. The product runs on the company’s proprietary Qwen large language model and Quark, its advanced virtual assistant.

The Quark AI Glasses offer real-time voice and visual features, including hands-free calling, music streaming, language translation, and meeting transcription. A built-in camera enables imaging and search. Users will also have access to Alibaba Group’s services, such as navigation via Amap, payments through Alipay, and price comparisons on Taobao.

The launch puts Alibaba in direct competition with Meta Platforms, which leads the smart glasses category. The global market is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 27% by 2030, with North America holding around 35% of the revenue.

Shares of BABA are up 43% year-to-date, and analysts project a $151.08 price target, implying a 25.87% upside. The Quark AI Glasses aim to appeal to professionals, travelers, and tech-forward consumers in China.
