Allegiant Flight Forced to Evacuate After Written Bomb Threat Found

A flight from Cincinnati to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport was forced to evacuate after a written bomb threat was found in the plane’s lavatory. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded quickly, securing all six Allegiant planes at the airport and conducting searches with bomb dogs.

According to Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, the threat was “very broad” and included all Allegiant planes at the airport, prompting authorities to ground them. Despite an investigation, deputies did not find any evidence of explosive devices on the planes.

Passengers were held in a contained area for several hours while detectives conducted interviews. The FAA released a statement saying the safety of passengers and crew is always their priority during these situations.

The incident has raised concerns about security threats at the airport. Passengers described the scene as chaotic, with emergency exits not being used. Investigators are trying to determine if the message was written before or after this flight.
