A 39-year-old woman died and her nine-year-old son was critically injured in a crush at the premiere of Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad on December 4. The incident led to the arrest of the cinema owner, followed by Allu Arjun himself at his home on Friday. He was arrested on charges that his security team attempted to clear the crowd near him, causing the woman’s death.
Arjun has denied any wrongdoing and expressed “deeply heartbroken” sentiments over the incident. His lawyers reported he had been granted bail, with his release expected shortly. The Telugu film industry star is known for his hit action series Pushpa and has several major awards to his name, with a massive following on social media.
