Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that Season 3 of its high fantasy epic The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is in production. According to reports, filming will begin at Shepperton Studios UK this spring, and the show’s new direction marks a significant time jump from the events of Season 2.
The upcoming third season takes place during the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, with Dark Lord Sauron seeking to craft the One Ring. Returning directors Charlotte Brändström and Sanaa Hamri, along with Stefan Schwartz, will bring this pivotal chapter in Middle-earth’s history to life.
