Amazon has expanded its same-day delivery service to include fresh perishable groceries, available alongside millions of everyday products. As of now, customers in over 1,000 cities and towns can order fresh groceries, including produce, dairy, meat, seafood, baked goods, and frozen foods.
By the end of 2025, Amazon plans to expand this capability to over 2,300 areas across the US. The service offers free same-day delivery for orders over $25 for Prime members, while non-Prime customers can pay a fee of $12.99 per order.
Amazon’s same-day delivery service includes thousands of fresh grocery items alongside millions of everyday products, allowing customers to combine groceries with electronics and other items in a single order. The company is committed to making grocery shopping simpler, faster, and more affordable for its customers.
To ensure the freshness of perishable items, Amazon uses a specialized temperature-controlled fulfillment network that undergoes a six-point quality check upon arrival. Temperature-sensitive products are delivered in insulated bags designed for recyclability.
Amazon’s expansion into fresh groceries complements its existing grocery delivery offerings, including Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market. As demand for same-day delivery increases, the company plans to continue expanding this service to more cities through 2026.
