Amazon Recalls Thousands of Kitchen Faucets Over Lead Exposure Concerns

Amazon has issued a massive recall of over 103,000 kitchen faucets sold on its platform due to concerns over lead exposure. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warns that the faucets can leach lead into water, which is particularly hazardous for infants and young children.

The affected faucets are from three brands – Vfauosit, Kicimpro, and Basdehen – all manufactured in China and priced between $30 to $40. The CPSC says that consumption of contaminated water can cause neurological effects, including attention problems, decreased cognitive performance, and lower IQ.

Consumers who purchased the recalled faucets are advised to immediately stop using them and contact Amazon sellers directly for guidance on disposal and a refund. They will need to provide a photograph of the faucet’s disposal to receive the refund.

No reported injuries have been recorded in the recall, but officials emphasize the potential harm caused by lead exposure. The CPSC urges consumers to search their Amazon purchase history for the brand name and “kitchen faucet” to determine if their faucet has been recalled.
