AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPUs to Disappear at MSRP Soon

AMD’s new Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics cards will only be available at their suggested retail price (MSRP) during early shipments, retailers claim. The cards are maintaining their MSRP due to wholesale discounts from AMD, but this promotion is expected to end soon.

Once the initial stock runs out, prices are likely to increase globally, potentially eroding the value advantage of the Radeon RX 9070 line over Nvidia’s mid-range RTX 50 series products. Similar supply issues have plagued Nvidia’s launch in January, causing widespread price increases.

While AMD initially reported healthier stock levels and better performance than Nvidia’s RTX 5070 duo at similar prices, both companies are now struggling to meet demand. The looming threat of 20-percent tariffs on imported goods from China may worsen the situation for GPUs and other electronics.

As a result, customers should be prepared for potential price hikes in the near future. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by both AMD and Nvidia in addressing supply chain issues and maintaining competitive pricing.
