AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Overclocking Capabilities Revealed

AMD’s custom Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU has been confirmed to have impressive overclocking capabilities, with some editions consuming up to 330W of power. According to leaked information from “zhangzhonghao,” the reference edition is expected to reach boost clocks of around 3.0-3.1 GHz, while custom board partner cards may surpass this number.

The RX 9070 XT’s performance is said to be comparable to that of NVIDIA’s RTX 4080 in select gaming titles, with some tests showing a 5% margin advantage over the competitor’s GPU. The card’s power consumption is expected to exceed that of the RTX 4070 Ti and Super editions, but its performance may make it an attractive option for gamers.

With its rumored price range of $600-$649, the RX 9070 XT seems poised to be a flagship edition based on the RDNA 4 architecture. The card features 16 GB GDDR6 VRAM and a 256-bit bus, with some speculation that a cutdown Navi 48 GPU may power lower-end cards.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, these leaks suggest that AMD is serious about competing with NVIDIA in the high-end GPU market. As the official launch date approaches at CES 2025, more information is likely to be revealed about this highly anticipated GPU.
