AMD RX 9060 Beats RTX 5050 by 25 Percent, Ties RTX 5060

AMD’s new Radeon RX 9060 has been quietly making waves in the gaming community, with a recent benchmarking test showing it outperforms Nvidia’s RTX 5050 by 25 percent. The card, which is part of AMD’s RDNA 4 family, was pitted against the RTX 5060 and surprisingly tied it in many modern games.

The RX 9060 features 28 compute units, 1,792 shaders, and a 3 GHz boost clock, but its performance is actually lower than that of the RTX 5060’s more powerful GPU. However, the efficiency and power consumption of the card make up for this, with the RX 9060 drawing only about 135 watts under load.

In synthetic benchmarks, the RX 9060 outperforms the RTX 5050 by 38 percent in 3DMark’s Time Spy and 25 percent in Fire Strike. The card also delivered frame rates close to those of the RTX 5060 in popular titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and God of War.

However, there is a catch: the RX 9060 is an 8GB card, which means its performance will be limited compared to higher-end GPUs with more memory. If AMD brings this card to global retail, it could be a value proposition for gamers on a budget, but for now, it remains an OEM-only option.

For now, the RX 9060 will remain locked to OEM systems, but its impressive performance has sparked interest among tech enthusiasts and gamers alike.
