AMD Teases Radeon RX 9070 with Impressive 4K Performance

AMD has showcased the upcoming Radeon RX 9070 graphics card, but details are scarce. At CES 2025, the GPU was demoed alongside Call of Duty Black Ops 6, which features a built-in benchmark tool. According to the test, the Radeon RX 9070 achieved an impressive 99fps average at 4K Extreme settings without upscaling or frame generation.

However, it’s essential to note that the graphics card was running on early alpha drivers, and the performance may vary when released. The GPU was paired with a high-end AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU, which likely contributed to its impressive performance.

The test results compare favorably to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super, which achieved around 129fps at the same graphics preset but with DLSS enabled. While this suggests that the Radeon RX 9070 may be on par with the RTX 4080 Super, further testing is needed to confirm its performance.

The Radeon RX 9070 boasts 16GB of VRAM and appears to have significant processing power, although exact specifications remain unknown. This early test offers a promising glimpse into the GPU’s capabilities, making it an exciting prospect for those seeking mid-range solutions. Further evaluation in the lab will be necessary to determine its performance across various games.
