AMD Unveils Powerful Ryzen 9 CPUs With 3D V-Cache Tech

AMD is set to launch its highly-anticipated Ryzen 9 CPUs with 3D V-Cache technology at the end of March, alongside its new RDNA 4 graphics cards. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D are expected to make a strong appearance alongside the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT GPUs.

The new CPUs boast impressive specs, with the 9950X3D featuring 16-cores, 32-threads, and a boost clock of 5.7 GHz, while the 9900X3D has 12-cores, 24-threads, and a slightly slower 5.5 GHz boost clock. The Ryzen 9 9800X3D, currently the fastest gaming CPU on the market, is expected to be outperformed by its new siblings in multi-threaded workloads.

Despite the powerful specs, pricing will play a crucial role in determining which CPU takes top spot for gamers. With AMD’s mega-CPUs expected to deliver exceptional performance, it remains to be seen whether the 9800X3D can still offer better value with its lower TDP and reasonable price point.

AMD has already hinted at the arrival of these new chips, with CEO David McAfee suggesting that gamers will get their hands on the new GPUs in March. The naming scheme also suggests a potential launch alongside the 9070-series GPUs.
