American Idol Executive Murdered by LA Condo Dweller with Troubled Past

A 22-year-old man from Los Angeles, Raymond Boodarian, has been charged with the murder of “American Idol” executive Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas DeLuca. Neighbors described Boodarian as a heavy drug user who terrorized them with his behavior. He had multiple arrests for violent charges, including exhibiting a deadly weapon, battery, and threatening to commit a crime.

Boodarian’s arrest was the latest in a long list of incidents that have plagued him. He was previously arrested in 2023 and released on mental competency grounds, only to be rearrested six months later. In June 2024, he spent six months in custody for similar charges.

Police linked Boodarian to the crime through fingerprints from his earlier arrests and security footage. It is believed that he broke into Kaye and DeLuca’s heavily fortified mansion on Thursday, then shot them multiple times when they came home.

The murder marks the latest incident in a string of crimes that have hit the exclusive Encino neighborhood, where celebrities like Nick Jonas and Dave Grohl reside. Last summer, there was a 40% spike in home burglaries, with at least eight break-ins reported between July and August. Local police believe that masked thieves were using a similar tactic to target homes in the area.

Boodarian is not believed to be part of any wider criminal network, but his history of violent behavior and drug use has raised concerns about his motivations.
