‘American Idol’ Judges Lineup Announced for Season 24

“American Idol” has confirmed its judges lineup for Season 24. The returning judges are Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. Underwood made her debut as a judge during the 23rd season, replacing departing judge Katy Perry. This is the third time Underwood will return as a judge.

The new judging lineup was announced on August 25 in a back-to-school themed video. The three judges expressed their excitement for another “Idol” season, promising a great competition. Auditions for Season 24 are set to begin on August 26, 2026.

Bryan and Richie also returned as judges in 2018, joining the show’s ABC debut after moving from Fox. Perry announced her departure last year, citing a desire to focus on her music. Bryan expressed his uncertainty about returning, stating that he needs to hear from producers about the show’s direction.

Underwood seemed more open-minded about returning, saying she had fun as a judge and is willing to consider it again. The judges have been part of the show for eight years, working hard with host Ryan Seacrest.

Auditions for Season 24 are just around the corner, and fans can look forward to another exciting season of “American Idol.”
