American Love Story Expands Cast with Ryan Murphy’s Latest Talent

Ryan Murphy’s latest series, American Love Story, has expanded its cast with notable additions. The FX/20th Television anthology series will feature Grace Gummer as Caroline Kennedy, Sydney Lemmon in a recurring role as Lauren Bessette, and Alessandro Nivola playing Calvin Klein. Sarah Pidgeon will portray Carolyn Bessette opposite Paul Kelly’s John F. Kennedy Jr., while Naomi Watts will play Jackie O.

The first season of American Love Story is centered on JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette’s tragic story, focusing on how their union began to unravel due to the pressures of media scrutiny and personal struggles. The series explores the lives of JFK Jr.’s family members, including his mother, sister Caroline, and Calvin Klein.

Executive produced by Ryan Murphy, among others, American Love Story is the latest addition to the FX/20th Television franchise. The show delves into sweeping true love stories, drawing inspiration from real-life events.

Gummer’s upcoming projects include Deliver Me From Nowhere for 20th Century Fox, as well as credits in Mr. Robot, Dr. Death, A Teacher, and American Horror Story. Lemmon has appeared in notable films like Tár, Velvet Buzzsaw, and the limited series Helstrom, while Nivola recently starred in The Brutalist and Amsterdam.

American Love Story is set to join the FX/20th Television lineup, joining the existing American Crime Story franchise.
