Amtrak has announced that its new Acela train sets, delayed for years due to production and testing issues, are set to arrive on August 28. The agency claims that these 28 trains will mark a significant upgrade in American train travel. According to Amtrak President Roger Harris, the trains represent an evolution in transportation.
However, not all of the new trains will be operational immediately. Only five will begin service on the Boston-D.C. route when they arrive, with the remaining 23 to be added to the fleet over the next two years.
