Amtrak has announced that its NextGen Acela trains will begin service along the Northeast Corridor between Washington, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston on August 28. The new high-speed trains boast improved features, including more seating, free Wi-Fi, individual power outlets, and winged headrests.
The new Acela trains can reach speeds of up to 160 miles per hour, a 10-mile-per-hour increase from the current fleet. Five initial trains will be introduced on August 28, with additional units set to be added through 2027.
