Anbernic, Ayn Join Anbernic’s US Shipping Suspension Amid Tariffs

Anbernic and Ayn, two companies behind popular emulation handhelds, are joining forces in suspending shipments to the US. The decision comes after President Trump’s tariffs on Chinese-made goods. According to a customer service email shared by Android Authority, the plan is to ship products until April 25th before pausing for a week, with an aim to resume shipping on May 5th.

The suspension is due to Hongkong Post announcing it will stop accepting air postal items destined for the US starting from April 27. Ayn’s representative states that despite finding alternative shipping methods, devices may become slightly more expensive in the US due to the De Minimis exception ending on May 2nd.

Industry experts speculate that companies like Analogue, which is set to release a new 3D handheld, might face similar challenges due to thin profit margins. The tariffs have sparked concerns about the future of the gaming industry and its impact on manufacturers.
