Anbernic SusPENDS US Orders Due to US Tariff Policies

Retro handheld console manufacturer Anbernic has temporarily suspended all U.S. orders due to recent changes in U.S. tariff policies. According to The Verge, the company attributed the decision to “changes in U.S. tariff policies” and recommended customers prioritize products shipped from their U.S. warehouse, which are exempt from import duties.

Anbernic’s business model relies heavily on dropshipping Chinese-made products to customers with US warehouses as a stockpile point. This means some items will be unavailable to American players due to the suspension of orders. The Trump administration has implemented tariffs of up to 145% on imports from China, affecting various tech and gaming goods.

Nintendo Switch 2 accessories and gaming laptops have already seen price increases due to rising costs. Anbernic stated they are working to find a suitable solution for customers who may be hit with custom fees during this transitional period.
