The new season opener of “And Just Like That…” finds most of the women prioritizing their men’s needs over their own, a trend that doesn’t seem likely to last. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) is given an ultimatum by her boyfriend Aidan (John Corbett), who has asked for no communication while dealing with family issues. Carrie surprisingly agrees, but it doesn’t take long for Aidan to break his rule and reestablish contact.
Meanwhile, Seema (Sarita Choudhury) faces similar challenges in her relationship with filmmaker Ravi (Armin Amiri). After a week without speaking, she gives him an ultimatum: show up or shut up. Despite Ravi’s promise to prioritize their relationship, he slots her into a production assistant role on his location scout.
In contrast, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is untethered and single, navigating the dating scene with newfound confidence. She tells her acquaintance Mary that she needs to slow down and focuses on herself. The series continues to explore themes of love, relationships, and identity, as the women navigate their lives in New York City.
Despite some promising storylines, some characters’ storylines feel underdeveloped, particularly Charlotte (Kristin Davis), who has been relegated to comic relief. However, with the return of some fan-favorite characters and a renewed focus on the women’s lives, “And Just Like That…” Season 3 has an optimistic outlook for its future episodes.
