Disney+ has released the first trailer for Andor Season 2, giving fans a sneak peek into the birth of the Rebel Alliance as we know it. The season will follow Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) in the four years leading up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Cassian’s reluctant journey from a cynical nobody to a revolutionary volunteer is set to intensify as he becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. With tensions rising and conflicts emerging, alliances will be tested, betrayals will occur, and sacrifices will be made.
The 12-episode season will unfold in four weekly chapters of three episodes each. The trailer reunites us with familiar faces from Season 1 and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, including K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).
Creator Tony Gilroy expressed excitement about the scale of the story and characters in Andor. “One of the great thrills of making Andor is the scale of the story and the number of characters we’re able to meet — ordinary people, Imperial overlords, passionate revolutionaries,” he said.
The new key art hints at Cassian’s transformation into a leader who will succeed in his mission to steal the Death Star plans. The season premieres on April 22, 2025, with stars including Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, and Alan Tudyk.
The series was created by Tony Gilroy and executive produced alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, and others. The directors for the series are Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios.
