Andrew Lee Receives ACSA Region 14 Honoree Award for Resilience

Andrew Lee, a John Adams Middle School student, has been recognized as the Association of California School Administrators Region 14 honoree for the 2025-26 Every Student Succeeding Award. Born with CHARGE Syndrome, a rare genetic condition affecting multiple body systems, Lee has overcome significant medical and developmental challenges since birth.

Despite his struggles, Lee has built a strong foundation for success through determination and hard work. He began educating others about accessibility and inclusion in first grade and continued to share his experiences with peers, even presenting to the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education.

Lee credits his recognition as a significant achievement, stating that it validates years of hard work. The award ceremony took place on December 2 at El Camino College in Torrance.
