Andrew Tate Faces UK Civil Trial Over Abuse and Coercive Control Allegations

Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old internet personality, is set to face a UK civil trial in 2027 over allegations of physical and sexual abuse by four women. The claimants, who remain anonymous, allege that Tate subjected them to violence between 2013 and 2015, with some reports suggesting he used coercive control tactics.

Two of the alleged victims were in an intimate relationship with Tate, while the other two worked for his online webcam business. According to their lawyers, one woman was threatened with a gun during an encounter, while another alleges that Tate strangled her until she lost consciousness during sex.

Tate denies all allegations, claiming that the claims are false and that all sexual activity involved mutual consent. The lawsuit is significant as it marks what lawyers say will be the first time coercive control has been brought before the High Court in a civil context.

The trial is expected to start in early 2027, with Tate’s lawyer Vanessa Marshall set to give evidence on his behalf. The case has implications beyond the UK, with Tate and his brother Tristan facing separate investigations in Romania over allegations of human trafficking and other crimes.
