The new Android 16 update brings significant changes to the operating system, making it smarter, more personal, and easier to manage. This release introduces two intelligent features to help users stay focused, express themselves with a unique interface, and manage parental controls directly on their child’s or teen’s device.
Two new features help cut through notification clutter:
– AI-powered notification summaries condense longer messages and group chats for quick understanding.
– Notification organizer automatically groups and silences lower-priority notifications, reducing distractions.
The update also introduces more ways to customize your experience, including:
– Custom icon shapes for a unique home screen look.
– Themed icons across apps for a cohesive and minimal design.
– An expanded option in dark theme that darkens most light apps, saving battery and reducing eye strain.
Additionally, the new Parental Controls feature allows parents to set limits on screen time, schedule downtime, and control app usage with an easy-to-set PIN. This feature is available within Android Settings and provides a direct path to setting up Google Family Link 2 for more capabilities.
These updates are now rolling out with Android 16 on eligible Pixel devices.
