Defense technology startup Anduril Industries Inc is in talks to double its valuation to over $28 billion with a new funding round expected to raise $2.5 billion. The deal, led by Founders Fund, would value the company at more than twice its previous valuation of $14 billion, reported earlier this year when it raised $1.5 billion.
Anduril’s autonomous weapons systems are set to be manufactured in an Ohio-based factory worth nearly $1 billion, with plans to invest around 87 football fields of space. The company aims to shake up the Pentagon procurement process and introduce more new technology.
Founders Fund is a longtime proponent of defense technology startups, with its chairman Trae Stephens also consulting on US military revamp plans for President Donald Trump. The funding round could further boost Anduril’s valuation, making it one of the most valuable defense tech companies in the world.
