Anker Recalls 5 Power Banks Due to Fire Safety Risks

Anker has issued a voluntary global recall of five power bank models due to potential fire safety risks. The affected devices, including Anker MagGo Power and Zolo Power Bank models, may contain battery cells with impurities or foreign particles that can lead to short circuits, overheating, smoke, and even fires.

The impacted models are:

* A1257
* A1647
* A1652
* A1681
* A1689

US-based customers will not receive refunds but can opt for a free 10K Anker Power Bank or a $30 gift card credit. To claim the credit, customers must enter their device’s serial number on Anker’s online recall form.

Lithium-ion batteries used in these devices are highly flammable and should be disposed of at certified facilities that accept recalled lithium-ion products. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) page provides guidelines for safe disposal.

Note: Users should not dispose of affected units through general recycling stations or used battery drop-off boxes, as they may not handle recalled lithium-ion products safely.
