The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been struggling with a lack of cohesiveness since the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame. The absence of key figureheads, particularly Captain America, has made it difficult for the franchise to move forward without a clear direction.
However, Captain America: Brave New World has finally provided a much-needed respite. Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson takes center stage in this solo movie, solidifying his position as the MCU’s new leader. The film serves as an excellent reminder of what Endgame already showed us – that Sam deserves to be at the forefront of the MCU.
Mackie perfectly embodies everything Captain America and a leader should be. He brings a sense of kindness and compassion, while also being fearless in action. His character is a role model for young heroes like Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres, and his willingness to defy authority to do what he believes is right makes him an inspiring figure.
What sets Sam apart from other characters in the MCU is that he has no superpowers. This makes him feel more reachable, and anyone can try to live up to his courage and strength without relying on Serum or any other enhancements. As the film concludes, it becomes clear that the world needs the Avengers, but most importantly, they need Sam Wilson as their leader.
Captain America: Brave New World is a much-needed step forward for the MCU, cementing Mackie’s Sam as the figurehead he deserves to be. The film’s success paves the way for future movies and sets the stage for an exciting new chapter in the franchise. As the world moves forward, it will undoubtedly need Sam Wilson at the helm – and so does the MCU.
