Amodei founded Anthropic after leaving OpenAI in 2020 due to safety concerns. However, personal issues like disagreements over power and credit also played a role. Amodei aims to present Anthropic as the safer alternative to its competitors, including OpenAI. Recently, Anthropic launched a Super Bowl ad campaign criticizing OpenAI’s decision to show ads in its chatbot.
