The gesture has been likened to the French Resistance’s use of red bonnets during the Revolution. The idea is that just as the “bonnets rouges” were a symbol of defiance against oppressive rule, the anti-MAGA hats have become a symbol of resistance against the MAGA movement.
Meanwhile, a visit by US Vice President JD Vance and his wife to Greenland’s US military base has been met with some frostiness. However, this incident did not prevent the “Make America Go Away” hat from gaining traction, appearing on TV shows like “The Daily Show” and “The View.”
