The Associated Press has announced its preseason All-America team for college football, consisting of 27 players from 12 conferences. The top two teams in the AP Top 25, Texas and Penn State, each had three players selected to the first team. Notable picks include Ohio State’s Caleb Downs, a projected top-three pick in the 2026 NFL draft, and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik, the overwhelming preseason choice for quarterback. The Southeastern Conference led with 12 players on the first team, followed by the Big Ten with seven and the ACC with four. The AP All-America team will be released in December to mark the 100th anniversary of its inaugural publication in 1925.
