AP Names All-Time Team Featuring 99 Players from Football’s History

The Associated Press has announced an all-time AP All-America team to commemorate the 100th anniversary of its inception in 1925. The list features 99 players across both offense and defense, with each player representing their respective university and year of eligibility.

On the first team, notable selections include Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald as wide receivers, Orlando Pace and Bill Fralic as tackles, John Hannah and Jim Parker as guards, Chuck Bednarik as center, Brock Bowers as tight end, Tim Tebow as quarterback, Barry Sanders and Herschel Walker as running backs, Sebastian Janikowski as kicker, Johnny Rodgers as all-purpose player, Hugh Green and Randy White as defensive ends, Ndamukong Suh and Bronko Nagurski as defensive tackles, Dick Butkus, Derrick Thomas, Chris Spielman, Charles Woodson, Deion Sanders, Ronnie Lott, Ed Reed, Tory Taylor, and Bubba Smith as linebackers, cornerbacks, safeties, punters, and other key positions.

The second team also boasts a strong lineup, with DeVonta Smith, Desmond Howard, Jonathan Ogden, Bryant McKinnie, Brad Budde, Dave Rimington, Keith Jackson, Vince Young, Archie Griffin, Tony Dorsett, Martin Gramatica, Tim Brown, LeeRoy Selmon, Bruce Smith, Jerry Robinson, Brian Bosworth, Lawrence Taylor, Champ Bailey, Tyrann Mathieu, Bennie Blades, Al Brosky, and Reggie Roby.

AP voters include Cliff Brunt, Maura Carey, Schuyler Dixon, Josh Dubow, Stephen Hawkins, Larry Lage, Mark Long, Michael Marot, Steve Megargee, Eric Olson, Eddie Pells, Noah Trister.
