Respawn’s popular multiplayer shooter, Apex Legends, is celebrating its sixth anniversary this month, marking a significant milestone for the game. To celebrate its longevity, Respawn has announced several updates and changes that will shape the future of the game.
Apex Legends Season 24, dubbed “Takeover,” kicks off soon and promises to bring an exciting array of changes to the battle royale experience. One notable addition is the introduction of Arsenals – new weapon banks located around each map that contain every weapon of a particular ammo type. This innovation aims to enhance gameplay dynamics by providing players with faster access to their preferred arsenal.
The Assault class will also receive significant enhancements, including fresh perks that boost firepower and efficiency. Moreover, a comprehensive rebalancing effort is underway for all weapons in the game, addressing existing issues while maintaining a smooth play experience.
Another notable feature is Road to Ranked, a new matchmaking system that sets challenges for players seeking to access ranked play. This introduction aims to create a more inclusive environment by requiring players to demonstrate their skills and collaborative mindset.
Efforts to combat cheaters will also be intensified, with Respawn implementing additional measures to detect and prevent unfair users.
To commemorate the anniversary, 36 legendary items are set to be released as themed loot, while a selected group of creators will curate challenges and rewards over two weeks. These may include exclusive skins and prizes for participating streamers or Apex-themed personalities.
