Apple Announces Initial M4 Mac Lineup and Upcoming Spring Releases

Apple has released its initial M4 Mac lineup, featuring the M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max models for iMac, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro. While this marks the end of major announcements for 2023, there are several upcoming releases to look forward to in the spring.

One of the most anticipated updates is the iPhone SE 4, which will bring significant improvements over its predecessor since its 2016 debut. Key features include a new form factor similar to the iPhone 14, an in-house modem, and the adoption of USB-C.

Another upcoming release is the iPad 11, which will likely see its first major update in over two years with Apple Intelligence support. The exact details are still unclear, but it’s expected to feature an A18 chip.

The MacBook Air will also receive a smaller refresh, adopting the new M4 chip and potentially adding new features like the Center Stage camera from recent MacBook Pro models.

Additionally, the M3 iPad Air is expected to get a minor update next spring, with Bloomberg reporting that it will likely be equipped with an M3 chip and a new Magic Keyboard. Apple’s first smart home product with a display is also on track for release, featuring a roughly 6-inch square screen and support for Apple Intelligence.

Other upcoming releases include an updated AirTag model with a newer ultra-wide band chipset and iOS 18.4, which will provide the final suite of initial Apple Intelligence features announced at WWDC24.
