Apple has rejected Elon Musk’s claims that its App Store favors OpenAI over other AI companies. In a statement, Apple said it uses “objective criteria” to select apps for charts and recommendations. The company’s partnership with OpenAI last year aimed to integrate the AI firm’s models into Apple products. However, there is no evidence of favoritism towards OpenAI in app rankings. Other AI apps have also topped the App Store charts. As regulatory pressure grows, Apple must navigate new laws and court rulings, including a recent decision in its Epic Games case.
