Apple Eyes Smart Glasses Market Amid Competition

Apple is reportedly developing smart glasses to compete with Meta Ray-Bans, but a mass launch is still years away. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the product to enter production by 2027, allowing users to capture moments without needing their phone. The glasses will feature touch and voice control, multiple frame options, and a camera for taking photos and recording videos.

Unlike Meta’s current offerings, Apple’s smart glasses won’t have built-in augmented reality displays initially. However, the company plans to improve this aspect in future updates. Unlike Meta Ray-Bans, which started at $299, Apple’s Vision Pro is priced at $3,499. Kuo predicts that Apple’s smart glasses will be more successful, with shipments reaching 3-5 million units by 2027.

The competitive landscape has slowed Apple’s pace, with competitors innovating faster. Nevertheless, the development of smart glasses marks an exciting step in the company’s exploration of new products and technologies.
