Apple is planning to enter the smart home market with artificial intelligence-powered devices, including a tabletop robot, standalone display, and home security cameras. The company reportedly aims to integrate its technology into these devices to create a seamless user experience.
According to reports from Bloomberg, Apple’s plans include a lifelike version of Siri integrated into a tabletop robot, which will feature a movable limb that can reposition itself to face users. This device is expected to debut in 2027 and will be able to engage with users throughout the day.
In addition, Apple is working on a standalone smart display, stripped-down from its robotic counterpart, which will focus on music playback, note taking, home device control, and video conferencing. The new operating system, Charismatic, will power this device, according to Bloomberg.
Apple also plans to enter the growing home security camera market with cameras that will integrate into an Apple security system. While a release date for these devices has not been confirmed, Apple’s expansion into smart home technology could further solidify its position as a leading tech company in the industry.
