Apple Hit Hard by US Tariffs on Chinese Imports

Apple’s stock value has plummeted 20% over three trading days, wiping out $640 billion in market cap, due to its heavy reliance on China. The country is facing a 54% tariff, and analysts warn that the impact will be severe for Apple.

Analysts predict that Apple may need to raise prices or eat additional costs when the new tariffs come into effect. UBS estimates that the highest-end iPhone could rise by $350, or around 30%, from its current price of $1,199.

The company’s reliance on China makes it vulnerable to trade wars. While it has production in India, Vietnam, and Thailand, these countries also face increased tariffs. Apple declined to comment on the tariffs, but experts say that it may need to rearrange its supply chain or raise prices to minimize the impact.
