Apple Introduces AI Features But Faces Mixed Reviews

Apple has introduced its AI features, called Apple Intelligence, in iOS 18.1, but users have mixed reactions. Some capabilities, like voice note transcription and email proofreading, work well, while others, such as inaccurate notification summaries, have been criticized. New users and those upgrading to iOS 18.3 now have Apple Intelligence enabled by default, though they can opt out if desired.

To disable Apple Intelligence for all features, follow these steps:
– Open Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.
– Tap the toggle switch next to “Learn from This Device.”

For specific apps or features, like turning off ChatGPT integration or email summarization, go to Settings > Apple Intelligence and select the app or feature you wish to disable.

In some cases, users can also customize how Apple Intelligence handles notifications by selecting them in italics or accessing more options within settings. For Mac users, similar steps apply under the appropriate device settings.

If you change your mind, simply turn on Apple Intelligence again through the same process. This feature is available across iOS and macOS devices but only on select models that support AI capabilities.
