Apple is set to release iOS 18.2, bringing more Apple Intelligence features and eye-catching elements to users worldwide. The update will be a significant improvement over the current iOS 18.1 version, with new features that expand beyond U.S. English users.
For those who use the iPhone in non-English languages, iOS 18.2 marks an exciting milestone as Apple Intelligence is introduced for the first time. This feature includes enhanced writing tools, improved Siri conversations, and the ability to summarize email chains in one click.
New features coming with iOS 18.2 include Image Playground, which allows users to create images from text commands, generating unique emoji called Genmoji based on photos. Another exciting update is Writing Tools, now enhanced to rewrite specific changes in text, such as transforming a dinner party invite into a poem.
Visual Intelligence, a highly anticipated feature, will work with the iPhone’s Camera Control to help users learn about objects and places seen through the camera. While this upgrade has been teased for spring 2025, iOS 18.2 is arguably the most transformational update yet for the iPhone.
The upcoming release date has not been officially confirmed by Apple, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicts December as the month of release, with some speculating it will be later in the month.
