Apple iOS 18.2: Top Features and AI Updates Unveiled

Apple has released its latest operating system update, iOS 18.2, which introduces several top features leveraging Apple Intelligence on supported devices. The update is available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users.

The first batch of Apple Intelligence features was launched in October with the introduction of generative models and enhancements to existing software. Users who did not activate Apple Intelligence in the previous OS update no longer need to join a waitlist.

One of the standout features of iOS 18.2 is Genmoji, which allows users to create their own custom emojis. This feature can be accessed via the keyboard and uses AI-generated options for users to choose from. Genmoji can also use photos from the user’s library to create unique characters.

Another key feature is Image Playground, which enables users to generate AI images by typing descriptions or using existing photos. The feature will be accessible in Messages and has a standalone app on supported devices.

Image Wand is an integrated tool in Notes that uses Image Playground features to turn sketches into images or generate relevant visuals based on the document’s context.

Siri will also undergo changes with the integration of ChatGPT, which allows users to grant permission for Siri to use ChatGPT for certain responses. Users can adjust settings and choose to enable or disable this feature at any time.

Other updates include Visual Intelligence on devices in the iPhone 16 lineup, which provides information using the phone’s camera, such as summarized text or details about an object or place. Writing Tools will also introduce custom rewrites, allowing users to make desired changes to text.

The latest update is available now for users to enjoy these innovative features and expand their Apple Intelligence capabilities.
