Apple is reportedly working on a new iPhone model, nicknamed iPhone 17 Air, which boasts an all-new design and may be even thinner than expected. According to a report from industry insider Ming-Chi Kuo, the phone could have a thinnest part measuring around 5.5mm, making it potentially the thinnest iPhone ever.
This would be a significant departure from current models, such as the iPhone 15 Pro, which measures 8.25mm thick. The new design is seen as Apple’s selling point, with rumors suggesting that it will have only one camera, unlike previous models.
Kuo’s analysis indicates that the iPhone 17 Air’s thickness would be comparable to that of the 13-inch iPad Pro, which holds the current record for thinnest Apple product at 5.1mm. While a thickness of 5.5mm may not be as noticeable without an iPhone case, it could still make a significant impact.
