Apple is set to unveil its new iPhone 17 series in the coming months, and rumors are already speculating about the upcoming smartphones. The most significant change might be the departure from the “Plus” model, with a new slim device replacing it. Here’s everything we know so far:
The iPhone 17 series will reportedly feature four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new “iPhone 17 Air”. The screen size for the Pro models is expected to remain the same as their predecessors (6.3-inch and 6.9-inch OLED screens). In contrast, the iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch screen, while the vanilla iPhone 17 might see its screen size bumped up to match the iPhone 17 Pro.
The new models are expected to feature ProMotion displays, including even the standard iPhone 17, which will have an LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera island design on the Pro models is also expected to change, becoming horizontally aligned like Google Pixel devices.
Rumors suggest that all iPhone 17 series models will have improved cameras, including a new 24MP selfie shooter and upgraded performance from Apple’s A19 silicon based on TSMC’s 3nm process. The “iPhone 17 Air” is said to be significantly thinner than current gen models, with a camera bump as thin as 5-6mm.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to start at around $899 for the new “Air” model, while vanilla and Pro models might see price increases due to the ongoing tariff war.
